Beginner Riders

Campers start their daily, 1-hour formal English-style riding lessons with leaders,
and soon master the basic skills of riding independently in a safe environment.

With a primary focus on safety, additional horsemanship activities include grooming, tacking, feeding, and horse care. This is a hands-on experience, with the time spent bonding and working with horses each day instilling confidence and better riding skills.

Rounding out the full day is a supervised recreational swim in our in-ground pool, plus arts & craft activities, fun rides, singsongs, and equestrian games!

Advanced Riders

Challenged to push beyond their current riding level in a daily, formal 1-hour English-style riding lesson, experienced riders are grouped together and introduced to advanced horsemanship skills, equine nutrition, show grooming, basic first aid for horses, and more!

Equestrian disciplines at riding camp include dressage, jumping, mounted games, and musical rides.

A Second Lesson?

Experienced Riders ( able to canter comfortably on their own), may sign up for a second ride each day, although most find one full lesson along with the rest of our busy equestrian schedule is usually plenty!
Additional fee applies.

Ontario Camps Association

Fully accredited by the OCA, WRA Riding Camp adheres to over 400 standards dealing with all aspects of camp operation, including health & safety, leadership, training, staffing, service, maintenance, programming, and administration.

Don't Forget!

Pack a lunch and snack (no nuts please), and bring plenty of fluids.

Campers will need a hat, protective sun lotion, swimsuit, and long pants for riding.

An approved ASTM/SEI riding helmet is mandatory, and can be rented.

Boots with a minimum ½” heel and smooth sole are required for riding. Rubber rain boots or hiking boots work fine!

We do email a list of camp reminders on the Wednesday before camp starts.

Safety First!

Qualified riding instructors are certified in First Aid & CPR, along with additional training by the OCA.  Our horses are fully schooled to ensure your child's safety.

A certified NLS lifeguard is at the in-ground pool at all times.

For busing children to camp, a certified school bus and driver are used.

A Risk Awareness Form is included with online registration. Please read carefully.
This form must be completed by the legal Parent/Guardian for each camper attending.

Cancellation Policy

We understand that plans for summer can change, and emergencies do come up.  And given appropriate notice, we can change your session to another week without penalty.

Cancellations after May 15 without re-booking will result in a loss of deposit.  With less than seven days’ notice, cancellations will be charged 50% of fees.

With less than two days’ cancellation notice, we are unable to give any refund.

A Second Lesson?

Experienced Riders (able to canter on their own), may sign up for a 2nd ride each day, although most find one full lesson along with the rest of our busy equestrian schedule is plenty!
